Salesforce Splits the Stack: Koa In-House, Claude at the Door
Koa is a CRM reasoner Salesforce trains and hosts. Claudeforce puts 37 sales skills inside Claude. Same Dreamforce week; two control models.

Dreamforce 2026 split Salesforce’s AI story in two. Koa is a CRM reasoning model Salesforce hosts itself, post-trained with NVIDIA on Nemotron 3 Super. Claudeforce is the opposite motion: take Salesforce data, permissions, and sales skills and drop them inside Claude. One keeps the weights. The other keeps the customer in Anthropic’s chat UI.

Koa: CRM reasoning under Salesforce’s roof
Koa is for Agentforce agents doing multi-step CRM work — update an opportunity, route a case, schedule a follow-up. Salesforce says the training set is synthetic scenarios modeled on 27 years of CRM deployments across 14+ industries, with no customer data in training. Post-training used SFT and GRPO on NVIDIA NeMo tooling. The company claims, on its unpublished CRM Bench, parity or better versus leading general models with three times fewer errors. That is a vendor score until someone reproduces it.
Weights and inference stay inside Salesforce’s trust boundary. Pilots named in the NVIDIA joint release include 1-800Accountant, Baxter Credit Union, Engine, Formula 1, UChicago Medicine, and Xero. General availability is aimed at winter 2026 in U.S. regions. Missionforce gets a parallel Nemotron path for air-gapped government work. For CIOs, the pitch is less “we beat Claude” and more “the CRM reasoner does not leave our VPC.”
Claudeforce: the CRM walks into Claude
Announced 26 August and folded into the 15 September AIforce umbrella, Claudeforce ships “Salesforce in Claude”: a prebuilt MCP server plus 37 sales skills (prospecting through pipeline hygiene). Admins connect the org; reps stay in Claude. A Claude Code plug-in adds 40+ builder skills. Beta is open to paid Claude customers. Tableau analytics and service, marketing, and commerce skills are promised later.
Slackforce and Agentforce Coworker are the other AIforce surfaces — Slack and Lightning — so Koa and Claude are not mutually exclusive. Claude is the front door for people who already live in chat. Koa is the in-house reasoner for agents that must stay on Salesforce’s stack. Computer Weekly framed the week as putting Claude and Slack in front of the CRM; Koa is the piece that does not.
The architectural tell is control. Salesforce will not let every CRM action depend on a frontier lab’s weights. It also will not force every user back into Lightning. Buyers should map which workflows must stay inside the trust boundary (Koa) and which can live in Claude with Zero Data Retention claims (Claudeforce) — two contracts, two failure modes.
