Atlassian Wants Agents in the Same Loop
AMP gives agents identity, scoped authority, and the Teamwork Graph. Jira now takes Devin, Factory, and Warp. Codex is next. Ten million human-agent collabs a month, they say.

Atlassian's bet is that the agent should not live in your terminal. It should live on the ticket.
At Team 26 Europe on 6 October, Jamil Valliani announced Agentic Multiplayer Protocol. AMP is identity, scoped authority, shared context, and a result a human can review. Atlassian says humans and agents already collaborate over ten million times a month on the platform. The Teamwork Graph is the memory: 250 billion-plus connections across work, people, code, and now structured data. Guard Premium scans the history and the attachments so that context does not leak into the prompt window. Agent accounts and a non-human identity inventory are coming, with a switch to revoke. Local EU inference is on the same slide.

The SDLC actually shipped
The 7 October follow-up is more concrete. Code Context, in open beta for paid customers, reads repositories down to functions, symbols, and classes, across Bitbucket and GitHub, without a clone. Rovo Code Search is the UI. Coding agents draw on that graph so they burn fewer tokens rediscovering your service map. Jira now assigns work to Cognition's Devin, Factory, and Warp from the Marketplace. OpenAI Codex is listed as coming soon. Record for Agent is in open beta. Planner, agent loops, and AI Review are private early access. Agent Sessions and interactive PR reviews in Loom are a closed EAP. DX AI Measurement is generally available.
Rovo Work is the long-running mode: a goal, a plan you edit, then hours of tool use in a sandbox. Artifacts gives AI output a durable URL under enterprise permissions so a plan does not die in a chat. Atlassian MCP was rebuilt: 200-plus tools, and an internal Claude-model benchmark of up to 25% fewer tokens for the same Jira and Confluence work. Atlassian says the server now sees more than 15 million calls a day.
Take the call volume as a usage brag. Take the Marketplace agents as the real tell. Atlassian cannot win by building a better Claude Code. It wins if Devin's PR shows up on the Jira item with the same audit trail as a human. If you already run agents in Cursor, the MCP rebuild is the piece to test this week. If you need a kill switch on a non-human identity, wait for the inventory. The protocol is named. The IAM is still rolling.
