Notion

Notion Labs, Inc. is the San Francisco company behind Notion, a connected workspace that combines documents, wikis, project tracking and databases in one product. Founded by Ivan Zhao and Simon Last, Notion grew from a note-taking tool into a platform used by individuals, startups and large enterprises for planning, documentation and team knowledge. Notion sells Free, Plus, Business and Enterprise plans per member. In 2026 the company made AI central to its paid tiers. Notion AI stopped being a standalone add-on and became part of the Business and Enterprise plans, and in October 2026 Notion launched a new agent harness, an upgraded model router called Auto, computer and browser use for Notion Agent, long-running agent tasks of 24 hours or more, and an overhauled Notion MCP server so outside agents can use Notion as shared memory. On Oct 19, 2026 Notion introduced a unified AI credit system for Business and Enterprise workspaces, and on Nov 2, 2026 it reached every existing workspace. Members receive monthly Standard and Select credit allowances, and workspaces can buy Notion credits at $10 per 1,000 for overflow, high-consumption models and workspace-funded Custom Agents. The company also added admin tools to see AI usage by person, feature and agent, and to set credit limits. Notion's product line also includes Notion Calendar, Notion Mail, Notion Sites and AI Meeting Notes. It competes with Atlassian Confluence, Microsoft Loop, Google Workspace and Coda, and increasingly with standalone AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Claude, which also offer team workspaces. On Metarix, Notion coverage focuses on how its AI pricing and agent features affect teams: what the credit limits mean in practice, which settings owners should change, and how Notion's approach compares with other SaaS tools that are moving AI from a free extra to a metered part of the seat price.
