Gitleaks

Gitleaks is an open-source, MIT-licensed command-line scanner that finds hardcoded secrets such as API keys, tokens and passwords in Git history, directories, files and stdin. Developers run it locally, as a pre-commit hook through the pre-commit framework, or in CI with the Gitleaks GitHub Action, to catch credentials before they are committed or pushed. It ships a built-in rule set and supports custom rules and an ignore file for known false positives. Free and open source.
